How Do You Import Survey Results into Deck?
Export the survey from Typeform, Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, or Google Forms as a CSV and keep the native format. Upload it in Manage โ CSV Uploads as a Survey, check each column's role and question type, and submit. Deck turns the free text answers into insights and themes and stores ratings and NPS scores as structured data.
Why Old Survey Results Go Unread
Years of survey results sit in Typeform, Qualtrics, or SurveyMonkey exports that nobody opens again. The scores make it into a slide, but the free text answers, where customers explain why, never get read in full. Each new survey starts from zero instead of adding to what you already know.
How Deck Analyzes Survey Exports Without Reformatting
Deck reads the native export from Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, Typeform, and Google Forms and detects the platform, so you do not reshape the file. Free text answers become insights and themes next to your other feedback. NPS, rating, yes or no, and select answers cost 0 credits, and the upload wizard shows the credit cost before you submit.
How to Import Survey Results into Deck
Run it yourself in Deck, or hand it to your AI agent. Same steps, same result.
- 01
Check What Deck Already Has
Open Manage โ CSV Uploads and look for the same export, so you do not upload it twice. PostHog surveys sync through the PostHog integration, not a CSV.
- 02
Pick the Right CSV Type
Use Survey for a full export with one row per respondent and one column per question. Use NPS for a plain list of scores, and Feedback for a file of open comments only.
- 03
Prepare the File Without Changing Answers
Keep the native export and the email columns, which link each row to a contact. Never edit, translate, or summarize answers. Split a file over 10 MB by rows, with the full header block at the top of each part.
- 04
Upload and Classify the Columns
Click Upload CSV and choose the type. For a Survey, set each column's role to Question, Metadata, or Skip, then confirm the question types. The live credit counter shows the cost, and only free text questions use credits.
- 05
Review Invalid Rows and Submit
Read the validation summary and fix invalid rows in your source file if you need them. Then submit. The upload moves from Pending to Processing to Completed in the uploads table.
- 06
Read What Deck Found
If some rows failed, open the upload and click Retry Failed. Retried rows use credits again. Then open Visualize โ Themes to see the largest themes after the import.
