Details

  • Open Competitors for a SWOT-style always-on report of weaknesses, opportunities, and delights from competitors’ public customer reviews.

  • Add suggested or custom competitors; Deck agents research public sources and merge new quotes onto your existing competitor graph.

  • Promote subthemes or opportunity teasers into Opportunity Backlog (optionally matching your own customer feedback), then carry them into Initiatives and Projects.

  • Enable periodic check-ins (weekly, monthly, or quarterly) so new public reviews refresh the report without a manual research sprint.

  • Use the same flows from the public API and MCP (explore_competitors, mutate_competitors: start research, add competitor, promote, set check-ins).

How this release fits the Deck workflow

Markets move. Competitors ship, break things and ship again. Turn on periodic check-ins, weekly, monthly or quarterly, and Deck refreshes the report as new public reviews appear. No manual research sprint required.

Anything you can do in the UI, your agents can do. Competitor Intelligence is available in the Deck API and MCP, with skills. Use explore_competitors to read the report, and mutate_competitors to start research, add competitors, promote opportunities and set check-ins. It's also available in the Deck plugin for frontier model apps.

A small confession from behind the scenes: this is the first feature our own team used more through MCP than through the UI. Asking an agent what a competitor's customers complained about most this month, and getting a sourced answer back, changes how often you actually ask.
