Initiatives

Turn customer evidence into active product bets, track what is moving, and keep every initiative connected to the users and segments it serves.

Details

  • Use Initiatives as the place where promising customer signals become committed product work. Active and completed views make it clear what is in motion, what has shipped, and which evidence supports each bet.

  • Create an initiative from the Build workspace, attach the relevant evidence, and scope it to the customer segments it affects. From there, the initiative becomes a durable record of why the work matters and who it is for.

How this release fits the Deck workflow

Initiatives help product teams turn a validated customer problem into a product bet without losing the reasoning behind it. Goals, customer evidence, affected segments, status, and related delivery work remain connected so roadmap reviews can focus on the tradeoff rather than reconstructing the research.

An Initiative can begin from a qualified opportunity or be created directly when the team already understands the problem. As planning develops, teams can add Projects for the concrete delivery work and keep those Projects tied back to the broader outcome the Initiative is meant to achieve.

This keeps strategic intent visible while individual Projects move through planning, execution, and learning.
