Overage applies only to paid plans and only when overage is enabled. Free plan organizations are blocked from new AI processing when they run out of credits; existing data remains accessible.

## How Credits Work

Deck uses AI credits for processing customer feedback through AI pipelines. Credits are consumed when Deck analyzes feedback from interviews, support tickets, sales calls, surveys, Slack, NPS, company research, and cross-source synthesis.

Deck shows low-credit warnings when an organization has less than 20% of its monthly allocation remaining, and a higher-severity warning below 10%.

Deck checks credit availability before starting AI processing. If an organization has no available credits and overage is disabled or capped, the job does not start and the organization is not charged for a failed processing attempt. Existing data and insights remain accessible.

These numbers are rounded planning estimates, not fixed per-item charges. Actual credit usage depends on factors such as transcript length, number of existing themes, organization context, feedback complexity, and which AI pipeline runs. Scale can also reduce the average cost per item: processing 100 survey responses is often more efficient than processing one response 100 separate times because Deck uses caching and bulk processing wherever possible.

For mixed usage, multiply each expected feedback type by its baseline and add the totals. For example, 20 user interviews plus 100 support tickets is roughly 640 credits: 20 interviews x 17 credits, plus 100 tickets x 3 credits.

## Overage Examples

- **Starter using 1,200 credits/mo**: $99 base plan + 200 overage credits at $0.05 = $109 total before taxes.
- **Business using 6,000 credits/mo**: $249 base plan + 1,000 overage credits at $0.04 = $289 total before taxes.
- **Enterprise usage above 25,000 credits/mo**: custom plan with $0.03/credit listed as the standard additional-credit rate.

## Overage Controls

Paid plans can enable or disable overage charges. When enabled, Deck automatically uses additional paid credits after base and rollover credits are exhausted, and overage charges appear on the next Stripe invoice.

Organizations can set a monthly overage spending cap. When the cap is reached, new AI processing is blocked until the next billing cycle or until the cap is changed.

Additional credits are currently purchased through overage. Teams that need a bulk credit package should contact Deck.

## AI Processing

All plans include the core AI processing pipelines. Usage is limited by available credits, not by feedback source.

The MCP Server is available on all plans but must be enabled by an organization admin.

Dedicated databases for Starter annual and Business plans are provisioned automatically during regional maintenance windows after the plan is active. Enterprise database hosting is handled through the account plan. Hosting region is chosen during organization setup and is available to all plans.

## How to Choose

- Choose **Free** if you want to try Deck with a small amount of feedback, up to 2 integrations, and 1 Slack channel.
- Choose **Starter** if your team needs more processing capacity, up to 5 integrations, 3 Slack channels, NPS Analytics, subthemes, contact sync, and passkeys.
- Choose **Business** if you need unlimited integrations, CRM integration, Deck Intelligence, SAML/SSO, 10 Slack channels, and a larger monthly credit pool.
- Choose **Enterprise** if you need custom pricing, higher credit volume, unlimited Slack channels, dedicated support, custom procurement, or enterprise security requirements.

## Enterprise

Enterprise is for teams with higher-volume feedback operations, advanced security requirements, or custom procurement needs. Enterprise includes 25,000 monthly credits, unlimited integrations, unlimited Slack channels, CRM integration, Deck Intelligence, SAML/SSO, passkeys, subthemes, contact sync, and the lowest listed overage rate at $0.03/credit.

## Billing Behavior

- Upgrades take effect immediately. New feature limits are available on the next request.
- Downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing cycle. The organization keeps current paid features and limits through the end of the paid period.
- Existing resources over a lower plan's limit are not removed after downgrade, but new resources cannot be added until the organization is under the new limit.
- Cancellations are scheduled for the end of the current billing period. When the paid period ends, the organization moves to the Free tier.
- Starter and Business subscriptions can be cancelled in-app. Enterprise customers should contact their account manager.
- Scheduled cancellations can be reactivated before the cancellation date, and the subscription continues normally.
- Unused credits roll over to the next billing period and expire after 60 days.

## Common Questions

### Is there a free trial?

Yes. The Free plan includes 200 credits per month at no cost, so teams can try Deck before choosing a paid plan.

### What happens when credits run out?

On Free, new AI processing pauses until the next credit allocation. On paid plans, teams can enable overage or upgrade. Existing insights and data remain accessible.

### What happens if credits run out mid-analysis?

Deck checks available credits before starting AI processing. If there are no credits available and overage cannot be used, processing does not start and the user is not charged for that attempt.

### Can teams buy additional credits without overage?

Additional credits are currently handled through overage charges. Teams that need a bulk credit package should contact Deck.

### Are integrations included?

Yes. Free includes 2 integrations, Starter includes 5 integrations, and Business and Enterprise include unlimited integrations.
